Johns Hopkins Food Pantry
The Johns Hopkins Food Pantry provides an essential service to the university community by ensuring access to food for students, staff, and faculty in need. Volunteers play a critical role in maintaining the pantry’s operations, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all who rely on its resources.

What We Do
Volunteers are vital to keeping the pantry running smoothly. Key tasks include:

-
Restocking Shelves: Organizing and replenishing shelves with food items to ensure the pantry is fully stocked and accessible.
-
Unpacking Deliveries: Sorting through incoming donations and deliveries to verify contents and prepare them for storage or distribution.
-
Storing Perishable and Non-Perishable Goods: Properly handling and storing food items, ensuring perishable goods are refrigerated or frozen and non-perishable items are organized for easy access.
Why We Do It
By volunteering at the Johns Hopkins Food Pantry, we contribute to combating food insecurity within the university community. Our efforts help create a supportive environment, ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference, connect with others, and build a sense of community while developing skills in organization, teamwork, and service. This is accomplished every other Friday for our team.
