Our Partnership with Pen Lucy Action Network
The Pen Lucy Action Network (PLAN) is a dedicated community organization committed to uplifting the Pen Lucy neighborhood in Baltimore through education, mentorship, and community development. The PLAN Tutoring Program connects volunteers with local students to foster academic growth and build meaningful, lasting relationships.
What we Do
As a PLAN tutor, we:

Pair with a Student: We work one-on-one with a Baltimore City elementary or middle school student for the entire school year.

Tutor in Math or Reading: Provide personalized academic support in either math or reading, helping your student build confidence and improve their skills.

Build Personal Connections: Foster a supportive and encouraging relationship with our students, serving as a mentor and role model.

The PLAN Tutoring Program offers a truly rewarding experience, allowing our team to make a direct impact on a young student’s academic and personal growth. By dedicating just two hours a week, we can help a child unlock their potential, improve their educational outcomes, and feel supported in their community. This program not only strengthens academic skills but also builds trust and connection, creating lasting memories for both tutors and students.
Our Support
PLAN is deeply invested in the Pen Lucy neighborhood. Our 2024 BJB Golf tournament raised $30,000 for the Pen Lucy community, supporting the development of a playground that will provide a safe and engaging space for children to play and grow. By volunteering with PLAN, we’re contributing to a broader mission of community empowerment and positive change.
